She is E.L.L.A. M.A.I.

Ella Mai is currently out on her debut album tour as a first-time headliner. I've seen her live twice before (with Kehlani and then Bruno Mars) and each time I've seen her she's never disappointed. She's still such a sweetheart from when I got to meet her two years ago. On her debut tour stop at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD, she brought with her two budding artists Lucky Daye and Kiana Ledé (all these ā endings 😂). Lucky Daye I feel like I've heard his music on Sirius XM but I wasn't entirely sure. His songs sounded familiar...Read More

I Used to Know Her

The artist known as H.E.R. kicked off her “I Used to Know H.E.R.” tour (titled after her most recently released EPs) in Atlanta, GA. Held at the new Coca-Cola Roxy Theater, H.E.R. was accompanied by Tone Stith and Bri Steves on her tour. Tickets options included standard admission (with or without a seat), early entry into the venue, or Meet & Greet (which came with early entry). The Roxy is a beautiful spacious place with a capacity of about 3600 people. The first artist on the stage was Tone Stith. His act was very similar to the performance he put...Read More

A Hiding Place

Tori Kelly recently dropped a gospel album and went on a 20 city tour named after the album "Hiding Place". Performed in smaller, more intimate venues, most of her dates sold out rather quickly. Like her last tour, she offered a meet and greet package in addition to standard ticket prices. There also seemed to be a "Tea with Tori" opportunity which, I'm not sure how the winners were selected, but they we able to have tea with Tori prior to the show and got second-row seats to her show (at least in Charlotte). Her M&G was rather rushed compared...Read More

24K Magic

I have attempted to see Bruno Mars twice in this past year - the first time was during the original 24K Magic Tour dates when he came to DC (I ended up having to go to Chicago that weekend); the second time was buying tickets for the Philly showing of the relaunch of the tour with (originally) Cardi B. This time I FINALLY went to see him - in Nashville, TN (a whole 6 hours away from Blacksburg but I digress). Once Cardi B had her baby, she pulled out of the tour to be a mom (#duh) - thus...Read More

Drake @ Madison Square Garden

One of my first blog posts discussed how I scored tickets to see Drake and Migos at Madison Square Garden. So the date for the show had arrived and through the ups and downs, it was a great time. First: if you buy a VIP package, make sure that within 24 hours you DOUBLE CHECK which package you bought. Why, might you ask? Well, I thought I purchased Migos meet and greet (~$700 per ticket for MSG). What did I end up buying? An overpriced lounge ticket sans M&G. The types of heated, sad, and disappointed I was to learn...Read More

Pentatonix

The acapella group Pentatonix went on tour this summer, of course, I had to be in attendance. To be honest, I wasn't too hype to go, but, since my friend wanted to go, I was down for the cause. Echosmith and Calum Scott were openers for the show. There seemed to be engagement from the crowd however, I wasn't familiar with either of their music. The group started the show with their song "Sing" from their debut album. Most of the of the songs they sang were their most popular covers. The stage was set up with 5 pillars that each member...Read More
